Charities
Geoff does not believe in just handing out financial help to people. He considers that does actually harm an individual since it encourages them to be lazy and dependent upon others. It is far better to help someone to learn to stand on their own feet and make their own way in the world. It also also better to help young ones who for one reason or another do not have the basic advantages of parents who care for them and provide for their needs in the growing and learning years.
Geoff has helped individuals and organizations. Notable among these has been a year spent in one of the least developed countries of the world (Solomon Islands). One of the hard hitting sights was a classroom on a remote island where the students did not have laptops, where there are no books and where the only teaching aids were a local teacher, blackboard and chalk. The men go to the sea everyday for fish. The women tend their gardens and no one has money. This is not a cash economy.
Recently Geoff has agreed to help his fellow Advisory Board Members for Global Finnet in their charity work. The people being helped are generally orphans without identity, without reasonable health and only a sponsor in a foreign land who cares whether they live or die.
Should you like to help in some small way to assist these orphans in practical way to make their way in life please make your wishes known to me by sending me an email in the first instance.
